Welcome to

 Summer Camp!

Are you ready to dive into the BEST SUMMER EVER? We're inviting campers to have fun, form friendships, find new talents and gain confidence with a summer they won't forget.

The possibilities are endless with art, science, music, chess, robotics, drama, sports, and many other types of camps available. With interactive projects, activities, and learning, if there's an interest, there's a camp.

All camps will be in-person, and the AAPS Super Six COVID-19 safety protocols will be followed.  These protocols include universal masking, small camp sizes, no mixing between camps, and the use of outdoor spaces for eating and activities.

Have questions?

Please email Evan Grau, Camp Supervisor at graue@aaps.k12.mi.us.

Rec & Ed is aware of the current case surge across Michigan and locally, and hopes the local COVID-19 situation has improved significantly by the time our camps start.  We will be continually monitoring the situation and should conditions warrant any changes in our camp schedule Rec & Ed will notify participants as early as possible.

Rec & Ed plans to follow all public health protocols (including the AAPS Super Six) to deliver the safest possible in-person camp environment. These safeguards will include:

  • Drive-up camper drop-off and pick-up

  • Outdoor activities/play as a significant part of the camp curriculum

  • Universal Masking

  • Physical Distancing

  • Smaller Camp Sizes & Cohorting

  • Hand Sanitizing, Cleaning & Signage

  • Staff and Camper Self-Screening

All camps will be in-person, and the AAPS Super Six COVID-19 safety protocols will be followed.  These protocols include universal masking, small camp sizes, no mixing between camps, and the use of outdoor spaces for eating and activities.

SAFETY TOWN 2021

Your Young 5, Kindergartener or First Grader can become a Super Safety Citizen! Every day, Monday through Friday, brings new adventures where campers learn how to be safe at home, outside and in their community. Dangerous situations can happen anywhere and Safety Town teaches budding Safety Citizens just what to do. When Safety Town 2021 is finished, every camper will be a true Safety Citizen and know how to safely have fun at home and in the community. Come prepared for the safety adventure of the summer!

This summer the curriculum has been adjusted to offer an in-person experience that is safe, thorough, and fun! After the successful re-imagined virtual session of Safety Town 2020, we are ready to provide your child with an experience that combines in-person and virtual instruction. Our staff will be trained to follow all COVID-19 guidelines to ensure that your child is in a safe environment. We’ll be using a combination of live presentations and pre-recorded videos from favorite presenters.

All camps will be in-person, and the AAPS Super Six COVID-19 safety protocols will be followed.  These protocols include universal masking, small camp sizes, no mixing between camps, and the use of outdoor spaces for eating and activities.
